PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (port of) Arrivals 1800-1906
Index for Butler and some variations
NARA film #M360, roll 17
Transcribed by Mary Sandler, 1999.

Given the long span which this Index covers, this should probably not be considered
a complete summary of the Butler entries for the series of films for this port.

Some of the children's ages were unclear. On the index card, a few times the
age was written so that it could have been next to the year or the month section,
and it was not possible to be certain which was meant. So those instances will
be footnoted after those entries.

Columns represent: first name; age; gender will be recorded here if needed
to identify whether a first initial is for a male or female passenger; date
of arrival in Philadelphia; ship's name; n for nationality; d for destination;
occupation. Any entries requiring an explanation will have the information
immediately following that entry. Ng is used here for "not given" on the film.
Ages were not available for some of the passengers, nor were the sections for
nativity or destination routinely filled out.
