NEW YORK CITY (port of) Arrivals 1820-1846
INDEX for BUTLER
NARA film #M261, rolls 12 & 13
Transcribed by Mary Sandler, 1999.

This Index should not be considered complete, as some Butler passengers have been found
on the original ships' lists, but have not been located on this Index card film.
Those are noted after the entries. Undoubtedly there are many others which
will be added if and when they are located.

Some of the entries do not list the ship's name, but only give a manifest number. Either
the ship's name was not available or else a check of the original lists for the Port of
New York would yield the ship's name.

Columns are: name; age; gender if necessary; date of arrival; ship's name; n for country
of origin; r for last residence; d for destination; occupation and comments if found.
Some abbreviations for locations are E for England, I for Ireland, Scot. for Scotland,
NS for Nova Scotia, GB for Great Britain, Brit. for Britain, Ger. for Germany.
Ng is used for "not given".
