Tuesday 9 September 1997
Registration at the Heraldic Museum, Dublin.
Visit to St Patrick's Cathedral and Marsh's Library. A Talk on Genealogical Sources.
Lunch in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham (founded by 1st Duke of Ormonde).
Visit Ashtown Castle.
Reception in Collins' Barracks.

Wednesday
Meet in Dublin and take coach to Kilkenny.
En route: visit Powerscourt to view gardens (laid out in 1740).
Lunch at Lisnavagh, Co. Carlow, with Lord and Lady Rathdonnell.
Arrive Kilkenny.  Check in to hotels / b&b s / pitch tents.
Reception in Rothe House, a C15 house, now HQ of the Kilkenny Archaeological Society.

Thursday
Official opening of the Rally in Kilkenny Castle and address by the Mayor of Kilkenny.
Triennial general Meeting of The Butler Society.
Drinks and then find your own lunch.
Lecture by the Knight of Glin.
Drinks at Castle Blunden.
An evening of song and dance.

Friday
Coach tour of Butler territory in Co.Tipperary.
Numerous stops including Fethard and Cashel.
Splendid lunch with the people of the village of Kilcash, serenaded by the children of Kilcash.

Saturday
Coach Tour.  First stop the Dress Museum.
To New Ross, Co. Wexford to inspect the replica famine ship under construction.
Lunch at Inistioge School followed by drinks at a nearby house.  Back in time for:-
The Butler Society Dinner in the Picture Gallery of Kilkenny Castle.

Sunday
Morning Service in St Canice's Cathedral.
Farewell reception in Kilkenny Castle.
After which the coach leaves for Dublin
En-route for Dublin, Tea at Shankhill Castle.
Coach arrived Dublin about 7.30pm.
